As a native of New York, I was unfamiliar with this establishment. Boy I wish we had these places closer to home! I had the original steak and onion sandwich. The Roll was fresh and crispy on the inside and tender on the outside, a sign of a masterful sandwich. Must have with the red sauce! If they bottle that stuff, I want to buy a bottle! Spicy and perfect on the sandwich.
Didn't go inside but look quintessentially American. Not a lot to look at but AMAZING food. Keep up the good work! -

Yup. This steak sub place is pretty great. This really is probably the consistently best I've had in this category.
We snuck them in on our way out of town on this last trip and they didn't disappoint. We literally just had time to hit the drive-thru and stuff our faces before hitting the road home. Worth it, but messy!
There's other things on the menu, but Steak and Onion is the way to go. My wife added mushrooms with her's and really enjoys it. I love their red sauce and peppers with mine. There's a lot of different ways to order it with add-ons and such. -

The sandwiches was okay at best, and I asked for red sauce and got none. The person at the drive through was very condescending toward me and was heard talking to a coworker making fun of me asking for sauce. This location usually isn't this bad but lately it's gotten worse

I love Big John Steak and Onion. Unfortunately, this location is ran by rude people who have zero customer service skills. I'll take my business to another location.

Big John Steak and Onion never disappoints! It is always a great, consistent, and inexpensive treat out. The service was great, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was good. As always, my steak and onion sub was tender, juicy and the bun was warm and fresh. Waffle fries were excellent and went well with red sauce. I will definitely be back every time I drive through Lansing. Love it!
